High Temperature Impulse Heat Sealing
High temperature heat sealing is a possibility with PackworldUSA's impulse heat sealers. High temperature is considered approaching or exceeding 300°C.
In the standard temperature range, PTFE materials are used to blanket the heat seal band both underneath and on top. PTFE starts to melt at these higher temperatures requiring substitution of polyimide films where the PTFE is traditionally used.
Once the machine is set up for high temperature applications, it can heat seal a variety of fluoropolymer films including FEP and PTFE. The TOSS Technology with advanced PIREG® Series impulse heat seal temperature controllers are capable of controlling heat up to 500°C; however, limitations are found with polyimide films before this mark can be reached.
